This place was awesome, My check engine light was on.and my car started shaking, then it died. I panicked looked up auto repair and found these guys. I called them first, because they popped up first. When they answered i told them i was gonna miss work and didn't know what to do. The man quickly asked me for my location and said some one would be there to get my car. Sure enough a tow truck arrived with in 10 maybe 15 minutes, we headed to the shop. As a young adult that doesn't know much about cars naturally i was nervous. The guy at the counter greeted me, concerned if i was alright. Told me he could fix the car but wanted to assure i was not harmed. Then he said lets make this quick so he could get me to work he said he would have information for me by noon, which he did. He told me my idle air control was bad and i ran out of gas, lol he told me it would be $350.0 and he would have it done by the time i got off. 5 o clock sharp they picked me up. I got my car and it was cleaned inside and out. thank you guys so much for such a good first experience. I would definitely recommend these guys.

I have had Doctor of Motors service my aging vehicles for many years (10+). They have always been friendly, courteous and up front with the issue(s) my vehicle is having and what is needed to be done to fix it. They have done everything from a simple oil change for me to a complete engine replacement. When I have had an issue with a repair, they have always promptly addressed it. I know I count on Doctor of Motors to treat me and my cars right!!

People where friendly but they charged me $315.00 to find out what was wrong and then wanted to raise the bill to $1300.00 to "possibly" fix my car. I got a second opinion and the car was fixed for $400.00 with no questions about what was wrong. They either didn't know what they where doing or wanted to do more work than was needed. Again they are extremely friendly but I probably wont go back.

Great and courteous staff. Had some brake problems. They identified the problem, and identified future problems at the same time. Not only was the work outstanding, but they saved me money on top of the estimate they gave me. It's a top notch shop. One of the best experiences I have had with an auto repair shop. I highly recommend them to anyone needing quality, timely, auto repair at a fair price.

Service was awesome. Found this repair shop online last March while looking for a smog check center and l was able to schedule an appointment on the very same day. The gentleman at the front desk (Jesse, I believe) was very friendly and personable. They got my car in and out by 45 minutes. It's safe to say I'll definitely be coming back for any other car needs. Thanks guys!

I brought my car into these people to get my problem diagnosed and i was told my radiator, hoses, and starter needed to be replaced. I was quoted about $2000 for parts and maintenance. I did not have that money to spend on this car so I decided to have it towed to my hometown and have my uncle look at it. The starter was completely fine. The radiator and hoses did in fact need to be replaced but apparently the mechanics at doctor of motors just left everything they checked out disconnected. When we took my car to a trusted mechanic I was able to get everything replaced and with the price of labor only cost about $600. I was treated very nicely at this business but I still feel very sketchy about it all. They seemed very annoyed that I didn't want their business. I wanted to just take my car home the first day but they would not release my car to me because it was unsafe to drive, which is an understandable practice considering liability, but also seems like a thinly veiled scheme to hold your car considering a few of the other reviews i've read on here. You should just take your car somewhere else.

I called and then went in looking for a simple opinion about what might be wrong with my car. The guy quickly examined my car and told me what he thought it might be, and I said ok and thanked him. After that, I was about to takeoff but he practically begged me to leave my car there so they could charge me money for a diagnostic and who knows what other charges they'll come up with. He was persuading me to leave my car there by saying all this stuff about it not being safe to drive home. It was pretty pathetic of him to be so desperate. I had already said no thanks. Watchout, these guys are very pushy and will try to make money anyway they can, especially off unsuspecting young car owners.

I came in because I had a code for misfire on cylinders 2 and 5 and I was due for a smog inspection. I had left my car for two days when they called and said I had a bad head gasket which would cost $2550.00. I asked if there was any way for my car to pass smog before the repair was done and he said there was no way and that they used the smog machine to confirm the diagnosis. When I picked up my car I had two new codes which they didn't mention. I'm not insinuating that they sabotaged my car, I just doubt that they ever ran their own code reader on it. I called my father and explained what they said. He told me to bring it up for him to take a look and that he would be very surprised if the head gaskets were bad. He ran a combustion test which tested fine so he proceeded to look for other causes. He replaced a sensor which I bought at Auto Zone for $21.99 in less than an hour. Today (3 days after picking up my car from Doctor of Motors), my car passed the smog inspection. Whether this was incompetence or an outright scam, I am clearly dissatisfied with the service. There is a huge discrepancy between $2500 and $25. *Update* Jesse called me on 01/12/14 (I had my car in on 01/08-01/09) in response to this review. He apologized several times and stated that he didn't want any of his customers to feel this way. He assured me that he would speak to his technicians and the owner to "get to the bottom of this." I am very interested in knowing exactly what was done to reach this diagnosis. It seems as if there were steps missed especially since my car had none of the symptoms associated with a blown head gasket (e.g. white smoke, missing coolant, milky white oil, overheating etc.) I will update again if/when I hear back from them.

I was trying to find a local shop to get a smog done, and after having a horrible experience with smog busters, I came upon Doctor of Motors. Chennall and Jesse were both fantastic. I've never had such a pleasant experience at a mechanic's shop. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants low prices, friendly staff, and an honest opinion.

Horrible experience! I brought my car in for what should have been a simple repair and a smog check. After showing up 4-5 times for my car, it was never repaired correctly. I was told that they had gone thru one smog machine and two mechanics in a matter of two weeks. Every time I received an apology, but no fix. I would call and be told my car was fixed only to show up to a car that hadn't been worked on! This happened repeatedly. They also parked my car next to the space where they hose down the tow trucks and my black car was covered in severe water spots after being sprayed down and left to dry in the sun. They told me repeatedly that they would care of it, but didn't until I threatened court action. The owner even had an employee call the police on me because I took a picture of an expired business license on the wall. I did eventually get my money refunded, but only after weeks of frustration and a car that wasn't repaired correctly (and now had a broken trim piece). I wouldn't let these guys work on my car again if they offered to do it for free. The good news is that they will probably be out of business soon. My neighbor had his car worked on and ended up getting a full refund after they couldn't get the new clutch to work after multiple attempts. While my wife was talking to a local car wash to get the paint fixed, the owner of the car wash has said that they had messed up on his car too. His car has a small block Chevy. If you can't work on a small block Chevy, can you even call yourself a mechanic? Save yourself the trouble and find a place that has quality equipment and is able to retain quality mechanics.
